Michael
Macpherson
Mike attended
Edinburgh Academy before going on to graduate Bachelor of
Laws degree from University of Edinburgh and then followed
his grandfather, father and brother into a career as a solicitor.
After a few years working in Perth , he joined the long
established firm of A & J L Innes in Kirkcaldy in 1980.
Since the firm's merger with T & T Johnston in 1984
to form Innes Johnston & Co., he has worked out of our
Glenrothes office. He has a wide range of private and commercial
clients and is a notary public. Mike owns a small farm near
St Andrews where he can be found building, driving or repairing
tractors when he isn't off on his motor bike or on his boat.
He also enjoys making furniture, walking, and bird-watching.
Tom
Macaskill
Tom was
born in Perth and educated at the Royal School of Dunkeld,
Morrison's Academy, Crieff and the University of Edinburgh
. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a post-graduate
diploma in business administration. After training in Edinburgh
, he joined F T & D C Wallace in Leven before setting
up the firm which later became Macaskills. That firm merged
with Innes Johnston in 2001. He is one of the partners in
the Leven office and has a very wide, general practice.
Tom is also a notary public. In his spare time, he plays
golf and is a keen rugby supporter.
Penny Wiewiorka
Penny was born in Stirling . She finished her schooling in Glenrothes High School and went on to graduate in law from the University of Dundee where she later tutored and lectured in medical legal issues. She trained as a solicitor in Edinburgh and worked in a firm in Glenrothes before moving to Innes Johnston. She is a partner in our Leven office with a largely private client practice and has a particular interest in employment law. She is also a notary public.
Lorraine Crichton Lorraine was born in Haddington, East Lothian and moved to Kirkcaldy when she was 12. After Kirkcaldy High School , she gained a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Diploma of Legal Practice from University of Edinburgh . Since graduating, she has worked for Innes Johnston, firstly as a trainee solicitor, then as an assistant before being made a partner in 2000. She works in the Kirkcaldy office and looks after private clients, mostly handling conveyancing cases, wills, trusts, executries and guardianships. She is also a notary public. Away from work, she enjoys popular music and concerts, cinema and theatre. George Harper
George is a native of Wick where he attended Wick
High School . He has a Master of Arts degree with honours
in geography from the University of Aberdeen , a Bachelor
of Laws degree from the University of Glasgow and a Diploma
in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen . He trained
with Shepherd and Wedderburn in Orkney before working as
a court solicitor in Aberdeen . He was then employed in
local government for several years before joining Innes
Johnston in 2004. George became a partner in 2005. A very
keen cyclist, he usually cycles to work in our Glenrothes
office from his home in Cupar. He has a general practice
with a particular interest in safeguarding assets of elderly
clients, mental health and community care law and also looks
after licensing cases. He is a notary public and is director
and secretary of Fife Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise
Limited. Apart from cycling, George enjoys hillwalking and
watching rugby.
Ann Oliver
Ann
was born in Kirkcaldy and educated at Kirkcaldy High School
Kirkcaldy. She has an honours degree in law from University
of Aberdeen and trained with a firm in Dunfermline before
joining Innes Johnston as an assistant. She later spent
5 years as a partner in a firm in Leven before rejoining
Innes Johnston as a partner in 2006. Ann works in our Kirkcaldy
office. She concentrates mostly on civil court work, debt
recovery, matrimonial and family law. She is a notary public
and a member of the Family Law Association. Having a young
son means she has little free time, but likes reading, gardening
and walking.
