Jemma deals with all matters relating to family law including separation, divorce, residence/contact disputes, co-habitation matters, pre-nuptial agreements, civil partnerships, adoptions and protective remedies such as interdicts and exclusion orders. Jemma is keen to promote resolution in family law matters whenever possible However, she also appreciates that sometimes court is the only option for resolving disputes. Jemma regularly appears at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and Courts in neighbouring jurisdictions Jemma also collaborates with the firm’s letting department providing advice to landlords in relation to tenancy agreements and compliance with ever-changing regulations. Jemma and her team deal with a large volume of Adults with Incapacity applications including Intervention orders and Guardianships, Jemma has also acted as Financial Guardian in a number of cases. Jemma is a curator for the Mental Health Tribunal in Scotland. Jemma regularly advises on Wills and Powers of Attorney, Asset Preservation and also Estate and Tax Planning. Jemma is one of the few Solicitors in Fife to give advice in relation to Immigration matters. Having trained at an Edinburgh firm specialising in Immigration, she advises families in relation to immigration matters including spouse applications for entry to the UK, extension of leave applications, settlement applications, citizens’ applications and applications for family members of European Nationals.
